This policy explains what information Click English collects when you use this website, why it is collected, and what you can do about it. It applies to Click English only, not to YouTube or any other site we link to.

Who we are

Click English is an English-learning website run by Nick. You can reach us at hello@klickenglish.academy.

What we collect

Information you give us

• Newsletter sign-up: your email address, and the page you signed up from.
• Contact form: your name, email address and the content of your message.

Information collected automatically

• Quiz results: when you finish a quiz we record the score and which quiz it was, together with a random browser identifier. This identifier is not linked to your name or email.
• Page views: we count how many times each lesson is read, in aggregate.
• Analytics: if enabled, Google Analytics collects standard usage data with IP anonymisation turned on.
• Security: we store a one-way hash of your IP address with form submissions to limit spam. The original address is not retained.

Local storage, not tracking cookies

Your quiz scores and learning streak are stored in your own browser using local storage. They never leave your device unless you complete a quiz, in which case only the score is sent. Clearing your browser data removes them permanently.

Why we are allowed to use your data

• Consent — for newsletter emails. You can withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.
• Legitimate interests — for keeping the site secure, preventing spam, and understanding which lessons are useful.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the services that run this site:

• Supabase — database and storage.
• Vercel — website hosting.
• SendGrid — sending email.
• Google — analytics and, where enabled, advertising.

Advertising

If advertising is enabled on this site, Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings.

How long we keep it

• Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe.
• Contact messages: up to two years.
• Anonymous quiz results: up to two years.

Your rights

If you are in the UK or EU you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email hello@klickenglish.academy and we will respond within one month.

Children

This site is intended for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page.
